I became interested in alternative energy at a very young age when I received a Radio Shack electronics learning lab from my parents as a Christmas gift. A number of the experiments involved a primitive solar cell that was used to power various electronic circuits. I have been hooked on solar power and alternative energy ever since then. It has always been a dream of mine to someday build a house that was 100% off grid and relied entirely on solar and alternative energy systems. Although I haven't realized that dream yet, I recently had the opportunity to customize a small Toyota mini-motorhome that incorporates many of the advantages solar power that I learned to appreciate as a kid using the Radio Shack learning lab. My ultimate project...someday...will be to build a home that is powered totally from solar/wind/hydropower.
